deeper understanding of Grace and peace
Galatians 1:3 Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of our God and Father.
This seemingly commonplace biblical introductory greeting has a great blessing in it.
The two great things that the apostle is praying or wishing for these Galatians to whom he is writing are at the end of this introductory thought when he tells his prayer to God (his wish) in their lives with his two great words grace and peace.
Bible scholars use these words grace and peace, which the Apostle Paul frequently used as his introductory greetings, separately in the introductory style of the Roman Empire, the Greeks for grace (charis and the Jews for peace Shalom). It is said that they were
The word grace charis is derived from the Greek custom of greeting and means praise of God, mercy, help, and help.
The word shalom is a common Jewish greeting tradition derived from the Greek word shalom and is a great greeting word used not only in letters but also on any occasion when they meet each other.
If we look at the traditional usage, however, we do not find that the Greeks associated grace with peace or the Jews associated peace with grace as we see Paul using them in all his introductory letters.
A valid question may arise as to why Paul chose to combine these great ideas of two opposing cultures to convey his desire and prayer to the recipients of his message.
The first thing I think we need to see is that the apostle Paul was born in a Hellenistic culture, a Roman empire where he was born in Tarsus with the Greek language and culture of Cilicia but was an Israelite by race of in the language Because it allows him to understand the meaning of the word peace in Hebrew Judaism.
When we live on earth, we all understand how important these two great things, grace and peace, are and that they are the first major elements that must be ensured in life. Take, for example, his letter to Timothy
1Tim,2:1 I therefore make supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings for all men; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty
I advise everything. From this verse we see that Paul advises Timothy not only in the introduction of his greeting but also in the content of his letter that the first thing to be ensured is peace.
3, The third reason is that the apostle Paul's message is broad and includes both Jews and Greeks.
Romans 1.14 I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise. so that it could summarize them all. The most interesting thing is that the apostle Paul not only emphasizes the importance of grace and peace in this verse but his second point of emphasis is the source of the flesh and peace.
Paul has made it clear in all his writings that the grace and peace he wished (prayed for) for the recipients of his message comes from God, not by any other means but by grace that gives full blessings and peace that gives full rest.
Let us now think about it in our lives and notice for a second about the importance of grace and peace in all aspects of our lives.
My brother and sister, how can you answer the great and challenging situations and unanswered questions of life that are coming upon you in your temporary and earthly life which you will forever abandon when you are in this thought ;
Once upon a time there was a man who was very blessed with material things. This man owned many factories and had many possessions and wealth. He had many guests. The walls of his house are built of fine stones and fenced with iron to prevent anyone from jumping in. From the outside, it is a very shiny 4-story building filled with shiny furniture.
It is common to see many servants in the house, starting with the guard at the door, to provide all the necessary services for the husband.
Outside such a large and beautiful house, however, there was a poor man who owned a single rope bed and when he woke up in the morning he leaned his bed at the foot of one of the trees near the house Although he had the authority to drive the area away, the poor man did not take it seriously to sleep there and to put his bed at the foot of a tree.
Coincidentally, the rich man's bedroom faced the tree where the poor man slept, so when the rich man went to bed in the evening after his daily work hours, he saw the man lying on the rope of his bed A question arises as follows.
From me and from this man who lies safely in this sweet air is the question of who gets richer when this thought continues and of course this one who stays in a shiny house surrounded by so much and can't sleep Because the idea of who is better than the man who is being appointed and the man is beginning to occupy his mind no less than the other daily questions. He felt that he had to try something and waited for the man who was sleeping at the door to get up and find him before he left. Woe to the rich man who suddenly asked this poor man a question and the question was as follows.
The rich man's thoughts and decisions began to speak to the poor man, saying, I will give you all that I have, and when you have all that I have, leave only this bed for me.
When the poor poor man heard such great news, he was overjoyed that the lottery had reached him. As he agreed, the rich man came to his bed outside and sat down Y .
This thing continued for a long time and this thing of their daily life experience and woe to the man who was so happy with his sudden wealth that he realized that the life he started was not easy.
It was not the rest he expected to come when he came again, very tired and without rest or sleep It was not the rest he expected to come. When he came again and again, very tired and without rest or sleep, he said to his gua
Tell this man who is sleeping outside to wait for me so that he does not go out early.
Dear brother, I have tried hard to resolve the agreement we entered into in the past with your demand that I be exchanged for your wealth and life and you for my poverty, peace and rest Taste for giving me a chance Thank you, they each returned to their pre-contract lives.
This does not mean that we should not strive to change or seek wealth and prosperity. Wealth and prosperity itself is not peace and rest or poverty and deprivation give inner peace to be restful whom we trust It is to remind you.
When the Lord Jesus Christ told His disciples something they should always hold and accompany Him, say first to the house where you enter, Peace be with you.
Just as the peace of God is not true unless it is related to the gospel of peace, so grace that does not come in relation to the gospel of grace is not true prosperity.
The peace God gives us does not change with gain or loss, it is eternal joy and peace. When the Lord Jesus Christ said that nothing can compare to this kind of peace and joy
w. John 14 - 27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Matthew 11 - 28 Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29-30 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
